Purple Friday – Clubs Say No to Domestic Violence

This Friday, Dubbo RSL is proudly taking part in Purple Friday – Clubs Say No to Domestic Violence, a state-wide initiative uniting registered clubs across NSW to raise awareness and show support for the prevention of domestic and family violence.

The club will be turning purple as a visible show of support, standing alongside other clubs to promote respect, inclusion and safer communities.

Dubbo RSL has been actively involved in this initiative for over a year and continues its commitment to being a safe and trusted place for members, staff and guests. Through ongoing partnerships and community initiatives, the club supports local organisations working in domestic violence prevention and response, including contributing over $10,000 annually to relevant services.

The club is also an official Escabags stockist, helping provide essential “Escape Bags” to women and families leaving unsafe situations, and continues to encourage community donations to support this initiative.

Most recently, the RSL Health Club raised $1,870 through its “Sweat for a Cause” fundraiser in support of Western Women’s Legal Support, helping women in the region access vital legal assistance and support services.

Purple Friday is about coming together as a community to speak up, raise awareness, and ensure people know that support is available. Dubbo RSL remains committed to playing an active role in prevention, early intervention, and creating lasting positive change.

CARPARK UPDATE

We wish to advise that the open-air car park at Dubbo RSL is currently closed while we undergo major upgrade works.
During this time:

    • All members and patrons are asked to use the undercover three-story car park, accessible via Carrington Avenue.
    • If you require disabled access, please enter through the Carrington Avenue undercover car park and use the front doors.
    • Please see the attached photo showing the route via Carrington Avenue .

The upgrades include a large-scale solar installation and a full resurfacing of the car park.

This project is expected to deliver long-term benefits, including:
Reduced environmental footprint and enhanced sustainability
Improved overall experience for everyone visiting the Club
