DERRiCK VALE

MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL COMEDY FESTIVALS NATIONAL DEADLY FUNNY FINALISTS 2016 NSW DEADLY FUNNY WINNER A regular for the Maitland Comedy Club & Kookaburra Komedy Klub Derrick Vale is not afraid to “have a go” at anything. He’s worked everywhere from Cotton Chipping to Real Estate, Saw Mills & Abattoirs to Hospitals, from Land Councils & Professional Wrestling to CDEP & NCAP.  After being encouraged by a close friend to have a go at stand-up comedy, he has been entertaining his audiences and annoying his family ever since. He’s done stand-up all over the country. Perth, Canberra, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle & country NSW.  In 2017 Derrick looks to continue putting smiles on peoples dials during his straight-out, set-em-up-knock-em-down, totally non-politically correct stand-up routines. Derrick writes his own material and encourages family members to “have a go” as well, prompting his son James into writing scripts and skits.

KAREN EDWARDS Black....... broke arse, and unabashedly bawdy!  Using the stage name “Jabitinme” which is synonymous of her Aboriginality and her stage humour Karen Edwards’ foray into stand-up comedy came after much urging from her family, friends and Facebook followers.
Her humour is described as “earthy, real and out there” putting a comedic spin to things that ordinary Australians can relate to.
Overcoming her fear of performing stand-up comedy, a 1400km round trip to Brisbane and countless hours perfecting her routine eventually paid off; with Karen knocking six men off the podium to take out the title, as winner of the Qld Deadly Funny Stand-Up Comedy 2015.

EMMA MALIK

Her solo show ' If You Can't Train It, Eat It' sold out, and is now touring the country. Emma has been described as "dirty, yet oh so charming" and is known for her quick wit, audience interactions and high energy. She is also the only animal training comedian in Australia. This British born unicorn lover, now calls Australia home, and has the passport to prove it. Emma delivers her stand-up with a unique perspective on life and can often be found sharing the stage with her Thai rescue dog DukDik, who, often upstages her.
